About the author

Ravi Subramanian is an alumnus of IIM Bengaluru, has spent two decades working his way up the ladder of power in the amazingly exciting and adrenaline-pumping world of global banks in India. The Bestseller She Wrote is his 8th book released on October 19th 2015.

If God was a Banker won him the Golden Quill readers choice award in 2008. He also won the Economist Crossword Book Award for The Incredible Banker in 2012.  "The Bankster", released in 2012 won him the Crossword Book Award in 2013. In 2014 he won the Raymond Crossword book award for Bankerupt.

My Review

The story revolves around Aditya Kapoor, a successful author and banker. I finished the half of the book in 2 days and the rest in a day. The book has been written in simple language which is a plus for the book. The characters are well portrayed. 

The first half of the book is predictable but becomes interesting in the second half. Aditya Kapoor is happily married and lives with his wife Maya and an adorable son at home. One day he meets a girl named Shreya and is attracted towards her. Shreya Kaushik, an ambitious IIM graduate who aspires to be a successful author and becomes his alluring protege. 

In the second half you will keep on thinking what will come next.

This is my first book of Ravi that I have read. I really enjoyed reading the book and the way he carried the story. His writing style was simple as I said earlier. I would love to read his other books after reading this.

This book can be seen as:

A married man being attracted towards a girl and what consequences he faces. As, I said the first half is very much predictable but becomes interesting while moving toward the climax or the end of the book. 

Overall, it’s a good read and is recommended for those who love to read thriller/romantic books with simple English.

Smooth Drive with Good Design and Connectivity - Delhi

I live in Delhi and this city has many vehicles on the road. A city which has too much of traffic faces many traffic jams. Only a good design of the city can help in avoiding traffic jams. A good connection between the roads makes sure that all the areas of the city are well connected. A good design and connect between the road can only make a good drive on the road. If we talk about Delhi in terms of Drive, Design and Connect it’s good.

Design: The best part of Delhi’s design is that it is designed in a round shape. One destination can be reached via many routes. I have many times stuck in traffic jams when going to a place. Because of Delhi’s round shaped design I can take another route and avoid those long traffic jams. The design of the city is such that it can avoid small traffic jams. The traffic lights are also installed wherever needed and results in smooth running traffic. The roads are also wide enough and three lane driving is possible at some areas. I still remember during the common wealth games in India a separate lane was there for CWG. The flyovers and subways have also added to the good design of Delhi.

Connect: The roads in Delhi are also well connected and there are sign boards at every diversion so that there is no confusion in finding a place. You can reach your destinations easily if you don’t know the way by reading the sign boards. Now, map applications are also available on your mobile but in rare case you may need to follow the sign boards.  

Drive: Driving is easy and smooth when you drive in a city with good design and is well connected. On flyovers the driving is so smooth that you love to drive. It’s good to drive on the roads of Delhi as there is a very low chance of getting stuck into traffic jam because you can avoid route with high traffic density and take another route which has low traffic density and reach your destination easily.

In my opinion the design of city should be very good so that you may take multiple routes or plan your travel with options so that you may have choices to travel to your destination. With good design comes good connectivity of roads in the city. A good connectivity between the roads and sign boards all over makes sure that there is no confusion in taking roads and you can reach your destination. Delhi scores good when it comes to Design and Connectivity and this makes it feel good to drive on the roads of Delhi.  It becomes the best to drive in Delhi when people follow the traffic rules.

Roaming with Responsibility

When we talk about visiting a place to spend a holiday or explore, we should keep in mind that every country or state has its own guidelines for responsible tourism. We should follow those guidelines and show our responsibility towards tourism. It may be anything from keeping the city clean, not causing any damage to tourist spots. My father once told me that he and his friends went on a bicycle tour to Agra from Delhi to visit Taj Mahal. Now, in today’s time nobody can plan a road trip on a bicycle.

I myself have done a bicycle tour with my friends during my college time. In my opinion the issues face in responsible tourism are:

1. Pollution: People plan road trips through motorcycle and car which causes pollution and harm the environment. The pollution level has already increased so much and long distance road trips through motorcycle and car contributes to it.

Solution: Long distance road trips can be planned through bicycles if going out with friends. With family, we can avoid road trips and go by train or flights.

2. Litter on Roads and Near Tourist Spots: I have seen many people litter on roads while travelling or near tourists spots without thinking that how much money is being spent on maintenance of that tourist spots.

Solution: We should not throw litter on roads or near any tourist spot and should through it in the bins. 

3. Causing harm to the Tourist Spots: Many people write on the walls or sculptures and cause harm to the tourist destination. I have seen people who pluck flowers from parks. This causes harm to nature as well as tourism. Causing damage or writing on walls or sculptures of historical can cost lakhs of rupees for repair and maintenance. Tourism Boards spend a lot of money yearly for maintenance of tourist spots and we should not cause harm to them

Solution: We should not cause any harm to the tourist destinations.

4. Misbehaving with the people around: I have seen people who misbehave or misguide people who come as tourist to their country. They misguide or misbehave for fun, which is very bad and brings bad name to their country and its tourism.

Solution: We should always try to help tourists who come to our country. It’s our duty to help them as they are our guests. If we help them

Cocktails are made for people who like to taste something different with each sip when they take alcohol. I, myself don’t like the simple mix of alcohol and water or soda or a juice. It’s easy to find a recipe for cocktail but it’s hard to make a good one. Making a nice cocktail is really a tough task. Ragi/Nachini Ladoos - A healthy and Sugar Free Dessert

I remember when my wife was pregnant, she used to have craving for desserts more than before. While searching for a good recipe for a dessert which can give a good nutrition as well, I came to know about Ragi/Nachini Ladoos. These are rich in Vitamin-B Complex.

It’s easy to prepare Ragi/Nachini Ladoos.

Ingredients:

• 1 ½ cups of Ragi/Nachini flour
• ½ cup Sugar Free Natura or as per your taste
• ½ tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
• Raisins and Cashews – a few or as per your taste fried in Ghee
• 6 tsp Ghee

Directions:

1. Heat ghee in a pan.
2. Add the Ragi/Nachini flour and cook over a low flame stirring continuously till it turns golden   brown in colour.
3. Add the Sugar Free Natura, cardamom powder, raisins, cashews and mix well.
4. Remove from the flame and pour onto a plate (thali) and let it cool completely.
5. Divide into 12 – 14 equal portions and shape each portion into ladoo.

Preparation Time : 15 minutes

Cooking Time : 25 minutes

Make : 12 – 14 Ladoos

Birthday at Uzzuri - Janpath Delhi - Review

It was a hard choice to make for where to go for my birthday. I checked out nearbuy(by groupon) for some nice deals and came across the deal for uzzuri.

I bet you cannot get a better deal than this. The restaurant has nice ambiance, we sat at the first floor and it was a karaoke night on that day. The staff was nice and the service was also good. The cocktails here are really nice and very different. I loved the cocktails we all ordered all had a great taste.

5 Ways to Protect Your Baby's Skin

Baby’s skin is very sensitive, especially during the first six months. For the first six months you may notice many changes in the baby skin. With the evolving smartphone technology, the accessories compatible with it are also evolving. From simple processors to octacore processors. There was time when you had to sit in your television room to watch it, now you can watch it while on the move on your smartphone. The coolest accessories which I have come across till now are:

The first accessory is Bluetooth Speakers, I am a music lover and I start my day with music. I have paired my bluetooth speaker with my phone and do all morning activities like brush and taking bath while listening to songs on my bluetooth speaker connected to my smartphone. You can easily keep the bluetooth speaker anywhere within a specific range.

The third accessory which I like is Virtual reality glasses. You can easily watch some cool videos and feel them as if you are inside it with the virtual reality glasses. The only condition is that the videos should be in proper format which is stereoscopic. There are many videos which look amazing when seen through Virtual reality glasses.

The fourth accessory is Fitness Band. You can easily track how much number of steps you have taken, number of calories burnt, distance travelled, heart rate and your sleeping pattern with fitness bands. These fitness bands can be synced with your smartphone so you can analyze your data. Now, I can easily keep myself fit and impress my girlfriend.

The fifth accessory is Wi-fi socket with the help of which you can turn on/off your device from anywhere in the world using your android based smartphones. Your socket is attached to a network and you can easily control it using your smartphone. Works best on 3G and 4G networks. My wife always forgets to switch off the Air Conditioner when leaving for office. Now, I can easily turn it off using Wi-fi socket without any argument.

Kausstubh - DLF Mall Saket - Real Taste of South India

A friend of mine Maneesh Srivastva (www.mysticfoodiemantra.com) recommended my name as a blogger to the Restaurant and they invited me to have a real taste of South Indian Food and it was really great to be there thanks Maneesh.

Whenever we talk about South Indian Food the first thing that comes in our mind is Idli, Vada and Dosa but the whole Picture of South Indian Food in my mind changed when visited Kausstubh Restaurant in Saket. There was a lot more than a simple Idli, Vada and Dosa there. There were some unique South Indian Curries which reflected the original taste of South Indian food in them. Now, talking about the unique curries and appetizers

First, we had Fried Cocktail Idli and Kuzhipaniyaram and I loved them specially Kuzhipaniyaram.

Then before the main course my favorite Rasam and Pappad

There were different kinds of Dosas, I liked the garlic dosa which was a different one

Then we were served with the Thali which had some unique South Indian Curries. They have their own spices from South India so each curry had the real taste of South India it.

It had Malabar Parntha, Idiyappam, Urlai Roast, curries Keerai Kuttu, Paneer gassi, Tomato Pappu and a lot more curries.The Charkkarai Pongal was something different that I had in sweets.

The Sambar tasted different from the regular Sambar's I have had till now but was a good one with the real taste of South India. .Thanks, Kunal for the patience to tell about each and every dish in detail would really love to visit again.

I would really recommend this place to all South Indian Food lovers who really want to have the taste of real South Indian Food in Delhi.

Bond of "Real Togetherness"

Real togetherness means when you are very close to somebody and you know each and everything about him/her. When I was small I shared each and every thing with my mother. My smallest problem to the biggest problem. I had a “Real Togetherness” bond with my mother.

My friends have always shared everything with me. When they are in problem they tell me about it to get solutions from me. I am ready to help them any time. A “Real Togetherness” bond can only be made when you know each and everything about the other person.

Nature has always helped us to do everything together from smallest things to bigger thing. Over time we have come so close to nature. The “Mother nature” gives us food and everything. We grow crops in farms the “Mother Nature” helps us and when the crops are ready we harvest them.

Nature has also given us the gift of “Ayurveda”. In "Ayurveda" we can find cure for almost anything. The nature helps us by giving us the herbs which are required to prepare the remedies. We can look for any remedy to a disease in “Ayurveda”. The nature has been so close to us and provides everything what we need.

Even the oxygen which we take is provided by trees which are a part of nature. The trees provide us with all the oxygen which we need. We also have helped the nature in preserving it.

I have been planting trees for years from my childhood. I like to plant trees, I have a made a garden at my terrace and I grow herbs in my garden. I have always been giving milk and food to stray dogs and feed pigeons with “Bajra” and “Makki”. I have always been very close to nature and I am very fond of planting trees and feeding animals. I will be doing this as long as I can. It gives you a great feeling when you do something for nature. This quality of serving and preserving has come inside me from my father. In, my childhood days I have been watching my father all the time feeding animals and birds. He used to keep plants inside his room and give them water.

The “Mother Nature” serves us with everything what we need without any expectations from us. It’s our duty to protect the nature by preserving it and planting more and more trees. This can only be done when you are very close to nature and you share a bond of “Real Togetherness”.

I would also like everyone to develop a bond of “Real Togetherness” with nature. The nature give you everything what you need to survive and even much more than that.

Recently, I was invited by BlogAdda.com for the launch of the New Pampers Premium Care Pants. It was an exclusive preview organized for bloggers and Mommy bloggers. I was interested in attending the meet as I have a 6 months old baby and wanted to know more about diapers and pants as they play a very important role in keeping your baby’s skin dry and comfortable.

The features which they told were demonstrated by an activity.

They are the softest diapers ever and I can say this by my own experience.

Everyone likes to watch television to pass time when they get bored.  The choice of the show which they varies from person to person. Some like to watch drama serials, some like comedy, some like mythological, some like horror. The choice of the show genre also varies with age group.

My favourite TV show on Television is Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat on Colours TV. I like it as it tells us about the history of Samrat Ashoka. I would recommend it to everyone, it’s a good show. I don’t like to miss a single episode of it. I even make my wife watch this serial with me which is the toughest job, so you can imagine that how much I like this serial. The problem occurs when there is a clash of timings with your favourite TV show and your wife’s favourite TV show, by default we men are the losers. The biggest problem is faced when there is a clash of timing between a cricket match and a favourite TV serial of your wife.

When the wife issue is not there work issue comes. Sometimes, I am so busy in my work that I am unable to watch 2-3 episodes in a row. I think of watching them later but cannot. Fastest Network Speed with Airtel 4G

I always face the problem of low internet speed on my mobile. Surfing the internet is fine but watching videos and listening to songs is really a pain for many on low speed internet. Sometimes 3G speed is also not enough for watching high quality videos on mobile data. I used to face a lot of issues on my mobile with low mobile data speed. Some of the issues which I face are:

Streaming of Videos: I cannot watch high quality videos on low data speed. The videos take a hell lot of time to load and I am always waiting for them to load. I can only watch low quality videos on current data speed and watching them is a pain, the videos are blurred and you have to compromise on quality.

We all dream of a nice and a beautiful home, I too dream of a beautiful home. The interior of my house has become very old and I really need to change it.
