Book Review - The Bestseller She Wrote

Paperback king, Aditya Kapoor’s life is straight out of a modern man’s fantasy. His literary stardom is perfectly balanced by a loving wife and a spectacular career. With everything he touches turning to gold, Aditya is on a winning streak.

Shreya Kaushik is a student with a heart full of ambition. Young, beautiful, and reckless, Shreya speaks her mind and obsessively chases after what she wants. And what she wants is to be a bestselling author.

What happens when their worlds collide? Is it possible to love two people at the same time? Can real ambition come in the way of blind passion? Can trust once broken, be regained?

Master storyteller Ravi Subramanian, delves into the glitzy world of bestsellers and uncovers a risky dalliance between a superstar novelist and his alluring protégé.

The Bestseller She Wrote is a combustible cocktail of love, betrayal and redemption.

About the author

Ravi Subramanian is an alumnus of IIM Bengaluru, has spent two decades working his way up the ladder of power in the amazingly exciting and adrenaline-pumping world of global banks in India. The Bestseller She Wrote is his 8th book released on October 19th 2015.

If God was a Banker won him the Golden Quill readers choice award in 2008. He also won the Economist Crossword Book Award for The Incredible Banker in 2012.  "The Bankster", released in 2012 won him the Crossword Book Award in 2013. In 2014 he won the Raymond Crossword book award for Bankerupt.

He lives in Mumbai with his wife, Dharini, and daughter, Anusha.

My Review

The story revolves around Aditya Kapoor, a successful author and banker. I finished the half of the book in 2 days and the rest in a day. The book has been written in simple language which is a plus for the book. The characters are well portrayed.

The first half of the book is predictable but becomes interesting in the second half. Aditya Kapoor is happily married and lives with his wife Maya and an adorable son at home. One day he meets a girl named Shreya and is attracted towards her. Shreya Kaushik, an ambitious IIM graduate who aspires to be a successful author and becomes his alluring protege.

In the second half you will keep on thinking what will come next.
This is my first book of Ravi that I have read. I really enjoyed reading the book and the way he carried the story. His writing style was simple as I said earlier. I would love to read his other books after reading this.

This book can be seen as:
A married man being attracted towards a girl and what consequences he faces. As, I said the first half is very much predictable but becomes interesting while moving toward the climax or the end of the book.

Overall, it’s a good read and is recommended for those who love to read thriller/romantic books with simple English.

Smooth Drive with Good Design and Connectivity - Delhi

I live in Delhi and this city has many vehicles on the road. A city which has too much of traffic faces many traffic jams. Only a good design of the city can help in avoiding traffic jams. A good connection between the roads makes sure that all the areas of the city are well connected. A good design and connect between the road can only make a good drive on the road. If we talk about Delhi in terms of Drive, Design and Connect it’s good.

Design: The best part of Delhi’s design is that it is designed in a round shape. One destination can be reached via many routes. I have many times stuck in traffic jams when going to a place. Because of Delhi’s round shaped design I can take another route and avoid those long traffic jams. The design of the city is such that it can avoid small traffic jams. The traffic lights are also installed wherever needed and results in smooth running traffic. The roads are also wide enough and three lane driving is possible at some areas. I still remember during the common wealth games in India a separate lane was there for CWG. The flyovers and subways have also added to the good design of Delhi.

Connaught Place - Delhi (Image Credits : Google Maps)

Connect: The roads in Delhi are also well connected and there are sign boards at every diversion so that there is no confusion in finding a place. You can reach your destinations easily if you don’t know the way by reading the sign boards. Now, map applications are also available on your mobile but in rare case you may need to follow the sign boards.

Drive: Driving is easy and smooth when you drive in a city with good design and is well connected. On flyovers the driving is so smooth that you love to drive. It’s good to drive on the roads of Delhi as there is a very low chance of getting stuck into traffic jam because you can avoid route with high traffic density and take another route which has low traffic density and reach your destination easily.

In my opinion the design of city should be very good so that you may take multiple routes or plan your travel with options so that you may have choices to travel to your destination. With good design comes good connectivity of roads in the city. A good connectivity between the roads and sign boards all over makes sure that there is no confusion in taking roads and you can reach your destination. Delhi scores good when it comes to Design and Connectivity and this makes it feel good to drive on the roads of Delhi.  It becomes the best to drive in Delhi when people follow the traffic rules.

Roaming with Responsibility

When we talk about visiting a place to spend a holiday or explore, we should keep in mind that every country or state has its own guidelines for responsible tourism. We should follow those guidelines and show our responsibility towards tourism. It may be anything from keeping the city clean, not causing any damage to tourist spots. My father once told me that he and his friends went on a bicycle tour to Agra from Delhi to visit Taj Mahal. Now, in today’s time nobody can plan a road trip on a bicycle.

I myself have done a bicycle tour with my friends during my college time. In my opinion the issues face in responsible tourism are:

1. Pollution: People plan road trips through motorcycle and car which causes pollution and harm the environment. The pollution level has already increased so much and long distance road trips through motorcycle and car contributes to it.

Solution: Long distance road trips can be planned through bicycles if going out with friends. With family, we can avoid road trips and go by train or flights.

2. Litter on Roads and Near Tourist Spots: I have seen many people litter on roads while travelling or near tourists spots without thinking that how much money is being spent on maintenance of that tourist spots.

Solution: We should not throw litter on roads or near any tourist spot and should through it in the bins.

3. Causing harm to the Tourist Spots: Many people write on the walls or sculptures and cause harm to the tourist destination. I have seen people who pluck flowers from parks. This causes harm to nature as well as tourism. Causing damage or writing on walls or sculptures of historical can cost lakhs of rupees for repair and maintenance. Tourism Boards spend a lot of money yearly for maintenance of tourist spots and we should not cause harm to them

Solution: We should not cause any harm to the tourist destinations.

4. Misbehaving with the people around: I have seen people who misbehave or misguide people who come as tourist to their country. They misguide or misbehave for fun, which is very bad and brings bad name to their country and its tourism.

Solution: We should always try to help tourists who come to our country. It’s our duty to help them as they are our guests. If we help them

“It will bring a good name for our country.”

Cocktails and Cocktails of India

Cocktails are made for people who like to taste something different with each sip when they take alcohol. I, myself don’t like the simple mix of alcohol and water or soda or a juice. It’s easy to find a recipe for cocktail but it’s hard to make a good one. Making a nice cocktail is really a tough task. Most of the cocktail recipes which we find anywhere are from outside India and are made to pair with international cuisines.

When we come to the Indian cuisine we definitely want to have a cocktail which tastes the best with Indian food. Indian food totally has a different taste when compared to international cuisines. It’s really hard to find a pub where you can find a nice cocktail that pairs with Indian food. Some of the good restaurants in India have good Indian recipe cocktails like a restaurant in Gurgaon has my favourite Indian Cocktail Bawaji Nu Thullu.

When searching for a nice Pubs or restaurants in India where you can find good cocktails which pair with Indian Cuisines, it becomes hard to find. For all those, who like to have something different everytime and can’t find places can use this Pub Finder in India to find a nice pub. It’s easy to find a pub using this, you just have to select your location, locality and the type (Pubs, Night Clubs, Lounges or Fine Dine). You, can also choose according to your mood of the day (Party, Hangout, Relax or Dine-out). A party calendar is also there so that you may come to know about the events in your location.

When drinking you must be committed to Responsible Drinking. I am committed to responsible drinking are you? Many times it happens that we overdrink and we may cause inconvenience to others who are around us. This makes a bad impression and may affect our social circle. Overdrinking should be avoided and we must drink till we can. Many things should be kept in mind when you are drinking at a party. A few tips which can help you to drink responsibly are at Live Responsibly.

5 Ways to Protect Your Baby's Skin

Baby’s skin is very sensitive, especially during the first six months. For the first six months you may notice many changes in the baby skin. Babies may have rashes, acne or red spots and many other skin problems. These may or may not go with time, if they go then it’s good and if they don’t go then you need to consult your doctor.

My baby had few skin problems for the initial six months which went away by themselves. Special care should be taken to keep you baby skin safe. The five top most things that can be done to keep a baby’s skin soft are:

1. Choose a good diaper: Baby skin is very sensitive and a baby wears a diaper for a very long time. While wearing a diaper you baby may pee or pass stool which may remain in the diaper for a long time and it can cause reddishness or react with the baby skin if not cleaned in time.
A good diaper protects your baby skin by maintaining the pH level.

I have been trusting Pamper for a long time. The recently launched Pampers Premium Care Pants are a good choice I have been buying it since its launch. They provide 5 star protection New Pampers Premium Care Pants are so soft and dry that your baby won’t even notice them, thanks to Pampers 5 star skin protection. Pampers premium care pants provide:
  • Soft materials/fabrics: The material and fabric is specially chosen with delicate little bottoms in mind. This makes the pants the softest for babies.
  • All-around waistband and soft cuffs: for a comfortable, snug fit minimizing leakage
  • Up to 12 hours of dryness: Pampers core quickly absorbs helping keep wetness away from the skin to help skin protection. This lets the baby sleep the whole night comfortably.
  • Baby lotion: A drop of lotion to help protect your baby’s precious skin and maintain a balanced level of pH for your baby’s skin.
  • Wetness Indicator: It turns from yellow to blue when in contact with fluid to help parents know when it needs to be changed.
 2. Washing Clothes: Babies clothes must be washed in a good liquid cleaner so that any germs or bacteria on clothes are washed off. Improper washing of clothes may cause reddishness or allergy on the baby skin so make sure to wash the baby clothes with a good liquid cleanser.

3.  Good Soap: A good soap should be used on your baby skin. Soaps with pH 5.5 are available in market which do not harm your baby skin. They keep the pH level of your baby’s skin balanced.

4. Good Moisturizing Lotion: A good lotion protects your baby skin from dryness and keeps it healthy. A good moisturizing lotion keeps your baby’s soft skin safe.

5. Avoid Talcum Powder Initially: During the initial months of your baby Talcum Powder should be avoided as it may or may not cause harm to your baby skin. Apart from it, it can baby may inhale the small grains of powder and it may cause lung problems. So, talcum powder should be avoided.

“Pampers brings you the softest ever Pampers Premium Care Pants. Its cotton-like softness is #SoftestForBabySkin and allows it to breathe, thus keeping baby’s skin soft and healthy, and your baby happy. ”

New Vision in Technology

With the evolving smartphone technology, the accessories compatible with it are also evolving. From simple processors to octacore processors. There was time when you had to sit in your television room to watch it, now you can watch it while on the move on your smartphone. The coolest accessories which I have come across till now are:
The first accessory is Bluetooth Speakers, I am a music lover and I start my day with music. I have paired my bluetooth speaker with my phone and do all morning activities like brush and taking bath while listening to songs on my bluetooth speaker connected to my smartphone. You can easily keep the bluetooth speaker anywhere within a specific range.

Bluetooth Speakers
The second accessory which I like is Chromecast which helps me to cast anything running on my mobile phone on my television. You have to just connect your mobile to the same network on which the chromecast is and you are done.
The third accessory which I like is Virtual reality glasses. You can easily watch some cool videos and feel them as if you are inside it with the virtual reality glasses. The only condition is that the videos should be in proper format which is stereoscopic. There are many videos which look amazing when seen through Virtual reality glasses.

Virtual Reality Glasses
The fourth accessory is Fitness Band. You can easily track how much number of steps you have taken, number of calories burnt, distance travelled, heart rate and your sleeping pattern with fitness bands. These fitness bands can be synced with your smartphone so you can analyze your data. Now, I can easily keep myself fit and impress my girlfriend.

Fitness Band
The fifth accessory is Wi-fi socket with the help of which you can turn on/off your device from anywhere in the world using your android based smartphones. Your socket is attached to a network and you can easily control it using your smartphone. Works best on 3G and 4G networks. My wife always forgets to switch off the Air Conditioner when leaving for office. Now, I can easily turn it off using Wi-fi socket without any argument.

Bond of "Real Togetherness"

Real togetherness means when you are very close to somebody and you know each and everything about him/her. When I was small I shared each and every thing with my mother. My smallest problem to the biggest problem. I had a “Real Togetherness” bond with my mother.

My friends have always shared everything with me. When they are in problem they tell me about it to get solutions from me. I am ready to help them any time. A “Real Togetherness” bond can only be made when you know each and everything about the other person.

Nature has always helped us to do everything together from smallest things to bigger thing. Over time we have come so close to nature. The “Mother nature” gives us food and everything. We grow crops in farms the “Mother Nature” helps us and when the crops are ready we harvest them.

Nature has also given us the gift of “Ayurveda”. In "Ayurveda" we can find cure for almost anything. The nature helps us by giving us the herbs which are required to prepare the remedies. We can look for any remedy to a disease in “Ayurveda”. The nature has been so close to us and provides everything what we need.

Even the oxygen which we take is provided by trees which are a part of nature. The trees provide us with all the oxygen which we need. We also have helped the nature in preserving it.
I have been planting trees for years from my childhood. I like to plant trees, I have a made a garden at my terrace and I grow herbs in my garden. I have always been giving milk and food to stray dogs and feed pigeons with “Bajra” and “Makki”. I have always been very close to nature and I am very fond of planting trees and feeding animals. I will be doing this as long as I can. It gives you a great feeling when you do something for nature. This quality of serving and preserving has come inside me from my father. In, my childhood days I have been watching my father all the time feeding animals and birds. He used to keep plants inside his room and give them water.

The “Mother Nature” serves us with everything what we need without any expectations from us. It’s our duty to protect the nature by preserving it and planting more and more trees. This can only be done when you are very close to nature and you share a bond of “Real Togetherness”.

I would also like everyone to develop a bond of “Real Togetherness” with nature. The nature give you everything what you need to survive and even much more than that.

To come more closer to nature visit

The New Pampers Premium Care Pants - Review

It becomes very difficult to choose a diaper for your baby, especially for new parents. I have a seven months old baby and I faced a lot of difficulty in selecting a good diaper for my baby. You have to be cautious in selecting a diaper as your baby skin is smooth, soft and highly delicate and needs extra care and attention. After, using diaper of few companies I selected Pampers for my baby. Pampers products are good quality products. Pampers diaper kept my baby, sleeping the whole night. It kept him dry throughout the night and gave him a sound sleep.

Recently, pamper launched Pampers Premium Care Pants. I attended the launch event and came to know so many good things about it. After, using them I believe that they are the best and softest pants you can use for your baby. My baby sleeps for more time and he has stopped waking up in the night because of a wet diaper. He doesn’t walks as he is too young for it, but yes he crawls and sits comfortably in the pants. In my opinion the new pampers premium care pants are best for a baby.

New Pampers Premium Care Pants are so soft & dry, that your baby won’t even notice.

About NEW Pampers Premium Care Pants:

5 star skin protection

New Pampers Premium Care Pants are so soft and dry that your baby won’t even notice them, thanks to Pampers 5 star skin protection:

  • Wetness Indicator turns from yellow to blue when in contact with fluid to help parents know when it needs to be changed.

The 5 star protections ensure that your baby skin is kept dry and soft.  Babies need to feel dry and soft in their pants/diapers – so they will hardly notice they are wearing them and only then they can move freely and do activities like running, crawling and walking.

Select Visualize & Order - Shades for Dream Home

A house is beautiful when it is well decorated and the colours on the walls are good, this is my definition for a good house. Diwali is coming and I need to get my home painted as the walls now look faded with the old colours. Choosing nice and bright colours that will make your home look good is very difficult as you don’t know how the colour will make the wall look when it is painted. It also becomes difficult to make a choice when there is difference of opinion between the family members.

I have experienced it thrice, that I choose a colour and after the wall is painted I am not happy with it. It becomes difficult to visualize that how the walls will look when the paint is done I always thought that it would be great if I could get an Idea that how my wall will look after the paint is done.

Recently, I came to know about the feature of paint finder on the bed, bath and more website. The website allows you to choose your favourite colour and then you can visualize the makeover on the website. It’s simple and easy to do it.

The process is simple:

Step 1:

The first step is to choose the paint shade.

Step 1 - Choosing the shade

After, choosing the shade card you will get colours corresponding to it and you can choose your colour.

You can choose the company of the paint eg: asian paints, berger etc.

Step 2:

In the second step you can choose the room where you want to see the colour will look like.

Step 2 - Choosing the Room
Step 3:

In the third and the final step you can order shade card or order paint sheet.

Step 3 - Order

With the help of these tools I could easily visualize how my room, dinning, lobby and kitchen would look like. It is fun choosing the colours and the tool helps you to visualize the looks that will come after the paint is used. If you are not satisfied you can start over from the Step 1.

There is a calculator which helps you to calculate the paint required and the estimate cost based on Paint Type, Area in (sq ft.), No. of doors and No. of Windows. Its easy to calculate.

Paint Calculator

There is a product comparison table in which you can compare the products.

Product Comparison
It's really fun

The New Pampers Premium Care Pants - Launch Event

Recently, I was invited by for the launch of the New Pampers Premium Care Pants. It was an exclusive preview organized for bloggers and Mommy bloggers. I was interested in attending the meet as I have a 6 months old baby and wanted to know more about diapers and pants as they play a very important role in keeping your baby’s skin dry and comfortable.

The launch event took place on 22nd September 2015 at Vivanta by Taj – Ambassador, Khan Market, New Delhi. Pampers showcased the new Pampers Premium Care Pants in the meet. The Premium care Pants are the softest diaper ever – so soft that a baby won’t notice it.

The event had Actress & Celebrity mother – Tara Sharma, Child sleep consultant – Ajita Gopal Seethepalli, Pampers R&D expert – Dr.WeiSing Long and Actress and Television presenter – Mandira Bedi talking about the importance of skin health in infant baby & how a soft & dry diaper can help babies have the best skin comfort and happy development. A baby skin is smooth, soft and highly delicate and needs extra care and attention.

The meet was very informative as there were healthy discussions about how soft a baby skin is and it needs a special care.  Celebrity & Actress Tara Sharma told that she had been using pampers for her babies and she thinks that pampers are the best diapers for a baby. Child sleep consultant - Ajita Gopal Seethepalli told us that diapers play an important role in making your baby sleep throughout the whole night as it keeps them dry, so a good diaper should be chosen.  Pampers R&D expert – Dr.WeiSing Long told about the features of the New Pampers Premium Care Pants and the best part was that they showed us the features of the pants with an activity. The features which they told were demonstrated by an activity.

Through activities they demonstrated us that how the new pampers premium care pants are the best and softest. There was an activity in which there were three diapers in a box divided into three sections and we were asked to feel the three diapers and vote for the softest diaper and, the winner was the New Pampers Premium Care Pants. They are the softest diapers ever and I can say this by my own experience.

Then there was a Q&A session in which the bloggers asked their questions related to baby care. Overall, it was a nice and a very informative meet. I thank for giving me this opportunity. Will soon post about the review of the product.

Fastest Network Speed with Airtel 4G

I always face the problem of low internet speed on my mobile. Surfing the internet is fine but watching videos and listening to songs is really a pain for many on low speed internet. Sometimes 3G speed is also not enough for watching high quality videos on mobile data. I used to face a lot of issues on my mobile with low mobile data speed. Some of the issues which I face are:

Streaming of Videos: I cannot watch high quality videos on low data speed. The videos take a hell lot of time to load and I am always waiting for them to load. I can only watch low quality videos on current data speed and watching them is a pain, the videos are blurred and you have to compromise on quality.

Streaming Audios: I like to listen to songs and while driving I listen songs online. Low data speed is a problem for me as the songs take a hell lot of time to load and pauses in between.

Data Download: It takes too much of time to load pictures. The data speed is so slow that it takes very long time load pictures on my facebook application. The videos also take very long time to download and if by any chance you have to download an applications on your phone which is greater than 100 MB, it will take minutes to download on low data speed.

Data Upload: Data Upload takes a lot of time while uploading on mobile data. I have waited for hours while uploading videos through my phone on mobile data. It’s a pain to upload data through your phone.

With Airtel 4G speed I will:

Watch Videos online: With 4G the data speed will be more and I would be able to watch videos without streaming problems. If there is no streaming problem then I would love to watch videos online and would watch more and more videos online.

Listen Songs Online: With 4G data speed I will be listening to songs online while driving without any pauses in between. Now, I would listen to songs only online instead of first putting songs in a pen drive or a disc and then playing it on my car stereo.

Download Data: I will download more and more applications on my mobile. With 4G speed it will take lesser time to download applications and I would be able to download applications on the go at a higher speed.

Frequent Data Upload: With Airtel 4G speed I would be able to upload pictures at a high speed. High speed upload would make me upload more and more pictures on the go.

With Airtel 4G speed I would be able to carry my all data related tasks at a very high speed while on the go.

Dream Home with Godrej Interio

We all dream of a nice and a beautiful home, I too dream of a beautiful home. The interior of my house has become very old and I really need to change it.

Godrej Interio

The first thing which I would change in my house is the interior of my bedroom. While searching on the internet I came to know about godrej interio. I liked the bedroom concept on the godrej interio website. My room always looked messy with clothes lying here and there. I need a chest of drawers to keep my clothes arranged at a place. There are various options available for chest of drawers at godrej interio website. The chest of drawers will be of great help in keeping my room clean. The wardrobe of my room has also become very old and I need to transform that too. A wardrobe matching my room color is all I need for my room. There are various options available on the godrej interio website. Last a nice dressing table would do all the magic.

The second thing which I would be changing/transforming would be some new sofa sets. I really want to dispose my old sofa sets and buy some new sofa sets. I liked the pure leather sofa sets on the godrej interio website. They have some really nice collections. The new sofa set would make my lobby area look great and awesome.

The third thing which I would like to change would be my furniture. My furniture is of very old design and I really need to change my old furniture and buy some new furniture for my dining area, hall and kitchen. The new furniture will give a better look to my home.

The fourth thing which I would like to change is my kitchen. The kitchen in my home has also become old. The kitchen has very less chest of drawers and I need to find places to keep my crockery and utensils. A new modular kitchen would give a new look to my home and it would be easy to arrange my crockery and utensils.

The paint on the walls of my home has also become old and I need to get all the walls painted with some nice plastic paint or texture paint to give a nice look to my house.

I found godrej interio website very helpful and useful for changing or transforming my home and make it my dream home.
